Banana Bread
- 2 c flour
- ½ tsp. baking powder
- ¾ tsp. baking soda
- ½ tsp. salt
- ½ c shortening
- 1 ½ c sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- ¼ c sour milk (add 1 tsp. lemon juice to milk)
- 3 or more (depending on size) very ripe bananas, mashed
- Mix shortening, sugar, eggs, vanilla, bananas until blended. Add dry ingredients, stir in milk.
- Bake 350 for 35-45 minutes depending on the size of the pan. Don’t over bake or bread will be dry. You can add nuts and or chocolate chips.
