Banana Bread

  • 2 c flour
  • ½ tsp. baking powder    
  • ¾ tsp. baking soda
  • ½ tsp. salt                     
  • ½ c shortening
  • 1 ½ c sugar                    
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • ¼ c sour milk (add 1 tsp. lemon juice to milk)
  • 3 or more (depending on size) very ripe bananas, mashed
  1. Mix shortening, sugar, eggs, vanilla, bananas until blended. Add dry ingredients, stir in milk.  
  2. Bake 350 for 35-45 minutes depending on the size of the pan.  Don’t over bake or bread will be dry. You can add nuts and or chocolate chips.
