Classic Glazed Ham
- 1 (9-10 lbs) bone in fully cooked ham, butt or shank half
- 1 can crushed pineapple
- 1/2 c brown sugar
- 2 tsp mustard
- Remove ham from refrigerator and bring to room temperature, about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven 325 degrees.
- Trim off any skin from the ham. You can then score fat and stud with 2 T cloves if desired.
- Put ham face down on a rack in a roasting pan and pour ¼ inch water into the bottom of the pan. Transfer to the oven and roast until a thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the ham registers 130 degrees, about 2 hours.
- Mix pineapple, brown sugar, and mustard with a bit of water to make the glaze.
- Increase oven temp to 425 degrees and pour glaze over the ham.
- Return the ham to the oven until the glaze is glossy and well browned.
