Grandma’s Chicken Soup

  • 1 whole chicken, cleaned
  • 1 large onion
  • 3 large carrots, cut in 1 inch pieces
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • Granny’s frozen egg noodles
  • Chicken bouillon, cubes or granules
  • salt and pepper to taste
  1. Put chicken in a large stock pot and cover with water, add onion, bay leaves, celery, salt and pepper and simmer until chicken is done.  
  2. Remove chicken and let it cool slightly.  Remove bay leaves.  Add enough bouillon to stock to achieve desired taste.  Add carrots and noodles and simmer until done.  
  3. Debone and cut chicken into bite sized pieces and return to pot.  Serve with homemade biscuits.
