Texas Sheet Cake

  • 2 c flour
  • 4 T cocoa
  • 2 c sugar
  • ½ c buttermilk                             
  • ½ c oil
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 c water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cube margarine
  • 1 tsp. soda
  1. Put flour & sugar into a large bowl and set aside.  
  2. Bring to a boil oil, water, margarine and cocoa.  
  3. Remove from heat and add to the flour mixture.  Mix well.  
  4. Mix buttermilk, eggs, vanilla and soda; add to other mixture and mix well.  
  5. Bake in a 11×17 ¾ inch pan at 400 for 8-10 minutes. 

Frost immediately with Chocolate Frosting:

  • 1 cube melted butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 6 T milk
  • 4 T cocoa
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • nuts (optional)
  1. Add all ingredients to warm melted butter and stir until smooth.
